For a Consumption of ye Longes
Take gose grece & aquivitte, twice as much gose grease as aquitvity, melt them together, & anoynt the breast of ye Stomack, chafing of it in by ye fire & then lay a browne paper to the Stomack Spred wth some of it not Shifing the paper so long as it is whole,

For a Cough. Dr Fryar Apr. 1669.
Take foure Scruples of juice of Licorice; two Scruples of Aloës-Rosata, one Scruple of pills of Cynoglosso, wth syrup of maidenhaire; make this a masse of pills & of a Drachme make six pills; Whereof take one or two every other night after a slight supper. Take itt a weeke or longer as ye cough lasts.
Then
Take Elicampane rootes greene flict thin, three ounces, three pints of faire water & a pound of powdred sugar, mingle these together, & strew them gently from seven in ye morning till seven att night untill halfe bee consumed then take itt off; Take foure or five Spoonfulls a day one or more att a time, & eat some of ye root wth butter & sugar.
Or
Take a pint of ye best aqua vitae & mingle wth itt halfe a pound of good powderd sugar, in a broad pewter dish, wch sett upon coales till itt begin to bubble then sett itt on fire wth a burning paper stirring itt continually, wth a long spoone, as long as you can make itt burne, by setting itt often on fire; Then adde to itt, foure ounces of damaske rose water, & give itt a boyle or two; & take itt for use a spoonefull of itt three or foure times a day.

Take 12 ounces of caco kernell half an ounce of Synamond 2 drames of Jamaca peper one Large Vanila 10 grains of atechetoes or red sanders 20 grains of mace or nutmege & 4 ounces of fine sugar

An Electuary for ye head to Comfort ye memory clear ye sight strengthen ye Stomack
Take ye flowers of buglas burage rosmary of each one pound finile seeds Anieseeds of sea fenill & siler of ye hills of each 6 ounces wth an ounce of fine Cynamon, beat & stampe ye things to be beat & stamped & sift thos thing yt are to be sifted mingle ym & make an Electuary of them of wch take ye bignesse of a chesnut & you shad se a marvelous opperation, this Recipt given from a great person

To strengthen ye memery
Take of ye topes of eye bright 3 ounces of fenill seed Cynamon mace of each a drame make a powder ade eight ounces of whit salt mix ym & eat it wth all meat, it helps to preserve ye sight sufison of ye eyes dimness & a weak memory Etc
