An approved Salve to heal & draw any Impostum futilow or sweling in any part of y^e body
Take smal red docks & pull off y^e leaves & take y^e midle stripes as I say y^e leaves stript off & take y^e same striges or stringes & wrap a handfull or 2 of stripes in y^e leaves & lay y^m in y^e Embers wrap a handfull or 2 of stripes in y^e leaves to put y^e striges in to be rosted very tenderly if you want leaves to put y^e striges in thus to rost in y^e fire then take paper & to let y^m rost in y^e Embers a 1/4 of an hower untill they be very tender well rosted, then take y^m off & put some hogs grease amonge y^e stripes & so w^th your knife bruse it & mingle them together & it will be as a salve w^th w^ch take some of it & spread it upon some dock leaves or els take a cloth & spread it on y^t & lay it to y^e place as hot as they can sufer it & this doe 2 tymes on a day for this will both heal & draw all swelings or Impostums or fistilows this a french man used to a woman who had a wonderfull sore eye y^t she could take no rest who aplyed this upon her eye, in this manner first her eye was closed & a litle leafe of y^e dock laid along y^e eye lid & this medicine was laid then upon y^e eye very hot, & this did fetch out both y^e pain & draw out y^e Corruption & heaf it, & it will doe y^e like upon any sore, & this is a most soverain medicine

To kill an Itching in wounds wⁿ healing or scabs
Take a pottle of smiths watter a good handfull of red sage & as much Alum as 2 hens eges & 2 penith of hony & boyle all this together in an Earthen pot & let it boyle well 1/4 an hower & take it off y^e fire & keep it w^th y^e hearbs for your use, & warme a like of it in a poringer blood warme & wash y^e place morning & night & this will kill any Itching in y^e flesh or scabs or in any part of y^e body

A very drawing Poultice to make a hard swellinge breake
Take of white lilly roots and boyle them in milke till they be as soft as butter and mix w^th them some brawns grease & some barly meale or course wheat flower and apply itt to the place afected morning and Evening that which you take of in y^e morning may serve the next day mostened w^th milke & brawns grease like as at first

To make a pultice for a sore breast
Take a handfull of scabious of chickweed or smalidge of red sage, & a good handfull of oatmell beaten as much sheepes suett as 2 egges shread all this together very small & boyle all thes in 3 or 4 pints of milk till it comes to a pultice it must boyle very well & so put it on a brown paper & to lay it to y^e breast as hot as can be indured

Another pultice good to break sore breasts or boyle
Take y^e grounds of y^e strongest ayle you can get & boyle oatmell in it & some red rose leaves in it to y^e thicknesse of a pultice & put in it some bears greas or oyle & to apply it warme as they can bear it morning & night
