To stop flooding in Childbed
Take ye inward flanill of a mans breaches & put it upon a plate & set it over a Chafendish of coales wth vinigar in ye plate & let it be well diped & soaked & applyed to ye body as hot as [owne] can

Take a quarter of a pound of Treacle an ounce of ye fillings of steele half an ounce of turmerick let it be new powdered very smalle & stir it very well together every tyme you take it wch must be once a day at ye first & after a fortnight twice a day this must be continued a mounth ye quantity of a nutmege at a tyme at a fortnghts end purge wth surrup of Bucksthorn & at ye mounths end purge againe

Good for bruses & aches
Take neat foot oyl & brandy & mix them together & very well rub it in befor ye fire, & this hath helpt them yt have been bowed together
Allso oyl of marshmalows mixt wth spirit of wine & well rubed in morning & Evening is very good for straines & bruses

Take oyle of wormes & aquivita & mix it together & first rub ye place well wth a warm dry cloth & then chafe ye oyle in

Take your own watter & heat, & old peice of Iron hot & quench it in your own watter & so bath ye part wth it allso whit wine vinagar hot & rubed in to ye part streingthens it

Another to skin a sore
anoint it [Unguenhum] allbum once or twice

Good for an Inward bruse
Take 2 ounces of conserve of red roses & one ounce of Lucatelles balsom balsom & mix it together & take as much as a nutmege morning & night ye first & last thinge you take & drinke of this ale poset drinke folowing about a quarter or more of a pinte as warme as you can, make all poset drinke about a quart & boyle it 2 or 3 roots of malowes well scraped and sliced half an ounce of licoras & half a handfull of moringwort let ye thinges lye in your poset drinke till you have taken all this quantity & then sweeten your poset drinke wth some common treacle you may continue this till you are mended this has helped thos yt have spit blood upon a bruse

for a bite of a viper or adder
Take live pigions & pull of ye feathers near ye vent hole & aply yt vent hole to ye place bitten & as yt pigon dyes lay on another till they live but take care you doe not smother ye pigeon in holding it
