An Excelent powder to make one sweat & take away pains & good for Agues, & ye Bloody flux
Take Cardus pimpernell Tormentill Betony Scabaus dragon Angelico scordium of each one handfull gathered in fair weather not washed but wiped wth a Cloth brush bruse y^m & steep y^m 24 howers in 3 pints of white wine then take one pound of Bolearmenak beaten & sersed as fine as powder or flower then strain in as much wine from from y^e herbs as will moiesten it to be thick & smooth & as it dryes strain in more wine & stir it often as it dryes in y^e sun then strain y^e herbs hard y^t ther be no wine left in them, & wⁿ all yt is in & it is a thick dough take half an ounce of saferon dryed to powder very fine & 4 ounces of metheradate mix alltogether & make it up in little balles & let y^m dry in ye Sun & keep y^m close & dry for use, wⁿ you use them scrap it & take it in a glase of warme salt sack or burnt wine or warme ale & lye to sweat, you may take as much as will lye upon a shilling

A Snaile watter good for a Consumption
Take 3 galonds of snailes put y^m in a paile of watter & a good quantity of [Isope] & finill to purge y^m & a handfull of salt, & wⁿ they have purged as much as they will take y^m out of y^e watter & stamp y^m shells & all to peices yⁿ put to y^m 3 pints if stropings of red Cowes wilke of nutmeg Cloves & ginger y^e weight of a shilling & of mace 2 shillings of raisons of y^e Sun stoned half a pound of blue figes y^e best y^t can be got & blew curands shred smal of each half a pound of yarow 2 good handfulls hartstoung liverwort sparagras Scabious Egremony hysop & speir mint one great handfull beat y^e Spices & shread y^e herbs very small mingle alltogether & distill y^m in a cold still close leaded let y^e watter drop on whit Sugar Candy
You must take a large wine glass full of this watter at a tyme in y^e morning & at 4 in y^e after noon & an hower before bed tyme
