Mr. Haywood Parker moved that the Board approve the awarding
of degrees to those students recommended by the faculties as
having met the requirements for such degrees. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Faucette and adopted.

Mr. London presented the following petition addressed to the
Advisory Council of the Faculty of the Woman's College of the
University of North Carolina and transmitted by the Alumnae
Association to the Board:

''To the Advisory Council of the Faculty
of Woman's College of the University of
North Carolina:

We, the undersigned alumnae of the Woman's College,
respectfully petition and request that you take such action as you
may deem appropriate to cause the college infirmary to be officially
designated and called "Gove Infirmary" as a tribute of gratitude
and respect for Doctor Anna M. Gove who has served for many years as
a member of the faculty of our college.

We feel that your knowledge of Doctor Gove herself as well
as of the nature and extent of the services she has rendered
make it unnecessary for us to recount the main reasons why we
deem both deserved and appropriate the action we are requesting you
to take.

"Inasmuch as Dr. Anna M. Gove has been Resident Physician
at the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina almost
continuously since the second year of the founding of this college,
and in addition has served for a number of years as director of
the department of health, winning in both capacities the gratitude
and respect of the alumnae, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the Alumnae Board of Trustees, meeting
in Greensboro on Saturday morning, May 30th, that this Board
of Trustees request the Board of Trustees of the Consolidated
University to take the necessary action to name the college
infirmary the Gove Infirmary in honor of the long and efficient
services of Dr. Anna M. Gove.

This resolution was moved, seconded and unanimously
voted.

I certify that the above minute is correct.
