Dearest Marie

Just a line to let you know I
am well and feeling fine. I have been trans-
fered to the eighteenth infantry with nine
other boys from the old company. After two
weeks or more traveling and moving we
finally got located. I have had many ex-
citing experiences and been through
several air raids. I expect to go to the
trenches all most any time so I am
going to put a horse shoe in my pocket.
I do not know if I have a return trip
ticket or not but I hope so any way.

I have not received any mail for
over three weeks on account of being
on the move all the time. I have just
been thinking of where I was seven
months ago today, at that time I
never figured on being over here in
such a short time. I have had it
