day of the month. It has

and the fifteenth, and so late
as the twenty-third. I am
waiting now for the whistle
to blow for us to fall-in.
The band and all the
regimental buglers out
of the regiment came
marching down the street
today playing the welcome
tune. We couldn't beleive [believe]
it at first.

We had a division
inspection today, an inspection
of any kind is something any
soldier "loves", and they seem
to be coming regularly
lately. This one today was
what is known as a field
inspection. We have to dress
up in our best clothes, and
then go out on the parade
grounds and stand at
attention for what seems
