am sure of being an acting
sergeant, as there's really
only one vacancy at
present, but we have
five sergeants in the
officers training school
but they still hold
their rating in the company.
If they land commissions
I am sure of a sergeancy.
Here's hoping they get there
commission. I have
practically been acting
sergeant for three weeks
and had charge of the
third platoon for a
while last week.

We are taking up
sketching and map
drawing now. Believe
me I wish I knew as
much about algebra as
you do, and I would be
"jake." As it is I am getting
along as well as some of
the non-coms that went
