week at the most. I will
become a casual as soon
as I arrive there and leave
the division. Will be put
in a company with men
all from California and
will either be sent to Camp
Kearny or Fort Mason. I
think more than likely it
will be the latter place, as
I enlisted at Fort Mason.
I will be some glad when I am
about 1000 miles closer to home.

Some of the fellows
went away on pass today. I
went in yesterday and tried
to put in for a pass to Paris
but the order relative to us
going home, which came in an
hour before I made application,
cancelled all special passes.
If we are headed for "God's
country" I don't care if I never
see Paris.
