sorry to hear that he is so lame & Mr. Augustus health does not improve any faster. Am afraid that they will have a hard time of it this winter especially if you have much cold weather but I hope not

I understand that Clarence has left home to be gone through the winter if not longer. Think his folks must miss him very much as he has always been at home so steady & taken such good care of their affairs & I think that he will soon find out that he has not bettered himself by leaving home & that he will soon come to the conclusion that "there is no place like home be it ever so homely."

You wrote that you were having nice pleasant weather & got your out-door work nicely arranged for winter & I was glad to hear it. For 3 or 4 days we have had fine weather much like April weather in Mass. but for 3 or 4 weeks previous we had but one pleasant day it having, not rained, but poured the whole time & instead of snow & ice we have mud & water in any quantity & I think you have got the right idea of Cala. [California] climate when you say you consider New England climate preferable to it. I was glad to hear from Mr. & Mrs. L. L. Tarbell & to hear that they were well When you see them again give my love to them. Also give my love to C & H as I may not find time to write them by this mail but tell them to write me as often as they can I will try & write them oftener than I have done. My love to friends & thanks to you for the information you gave me with regard to my business affairs.

From your loving Son H. A. Parker [Henry A. Parker].

Mrs Ann Parker
