426 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Apr 6 1888 Petition of Engine Co. No. 4. for the appointment of a custodian for Engine House No 4 read & referred to the Committee on Fire and Water. Communication from the Chief of Police recommending that J McDaniel and Geo Van Dyke be placed in the Police force vice Fay & Huntoon, resigned, also that two addition officers be added to the Police force and W L Preston and W F Peir for appointment as such officers read & filed. Communication from E C McClannahan offering to fill in Washington Street and South Second Street as heretofore ordered by the Council for seven (7) cents per cubic yard read and referred to Street Committee with power to act.
