305 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Oct 7 1887 From same Committee of petition of August Bittner for keeping Madison Street open reporting that the Comtractor on Madison Street says it will cost $300. to keep the street open. Report filed and on motion the petition of said Aug Bittner is rejected. From Same Committee recommending that the petition of C B Bagley andothers to open High Street be granted. Adopted. From the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds as follows: "We have examined the City Engine House No 2 and find that it requires a new roof, and also Anchors to the Front Walls. We would therefore recommend that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for taking off the old Tin on the roof and replacing the same with the best I C Charcoal tin properly laid, with standing seams, all to be properly laid, well fastened, and finished in a thorough workmanlike manner; also for the putting in of twelve (12) iron anchors in the Front walls, the whole of the work to be done under the supervision of the chairman of the Committee on Public Buildings Grounds and property. Adopted. From the Finance Committee reporting that they have rejected the following bills.
