à Sa droite , & du Comte de Wonsheim Baron de Boulers qui étoit à sa gauche à la tete des Nobles titrés de la Province, qui avoient aussy été convoqués par lettres circulaires du Con seil de Flandres.
Ils marchoient en ordre (sélon la liste qui est cy apres mar quée B ) tous magnifiques, tant par la richesse de leurs habillemens & de leurs équipages, que par le grand nombre de leurs Domestiques.
Apres eux marchèrent les Députés du Clergé de Gand, les Prélats & les Eveques de Gand & de Bruges, dont les équipa ges & les livrées correspondoient à leur caractere.
Trois Rois d’Armes suivoient fur une ligne de front: le Sieur Jean Baptifte Platzaert Roi d’Armes à titre de Malines, revetû de la cotte aux armes de Flandres étoit au milieu ; à droite étoit le Sieur Nicolas de Berckel Roi d’Armes à titre de Brabant avec la cotte aux armes de Hainaut, & à gauche le Sieur Richard de Grez Roi d’Armes à titre de Namur aussy revetû de sa cotte; les Comtes de Flandres aiant autrefois été Souverains de ces deux dernières Provinces.
Le Maréchal Héréditaire de la Province marchoit apres avec la grande épee nue, nommée Estoc, entre les deux autres Hé rauts • le Sieur Joseph vauder Leene Conseiller & Lieutenant de l’Etat de premier Roi d'Armes aux Pays-bas revetû de la cotte aux armes pleines de Sa Majesté Impériale & Catholique sçavoir celles d’Espagne posées en cœur de double aigle lmperiale marchoit à la droite; & à la gauche le Sieur Louis van Ursel Roi d’Armes à ti tre de Flandres avec la cotte aux armes d’Austriche aiant chacun le Caducée à la main & la Toque en tête ornée de plumes.
Apres, les Domestiques de Son Excellence au nombre de trente valets de pied, quatre Haiduques, huit Coureurs, six Pa ges tous vêtus d’écarlate richement chamarés d’or allèrent en fi le deux à deux & la tête decouverte.
Ensuite Son Excellence, dont le port noble lui attire le repect de tout le monde, autant que l’air gracieux lui en concilie l'af fection, parut sur un très beau cheval équipé d une magnificence, qui correspondoit à cette augufte fonction.
Le Baron de Winterfelt & le Comte de Maldeghem aussi à cheval La suivoient de prés, & la noble garde des Archers, de
même que celle des Hallebardiers à pied & la tête decouverte la précédèrent, & l’environnerent de toute part.
Derrière eux vinrent les Adjudans Generaux delà Cour, l’Ecuyer & les Gentils-hommes de Son Excellence à cheval; Puis douze chevaux de main couverts de riches housses brodées d’or & d'argent, aux armes de Son Excellence: ces chevaux alloient en file un à un, chacun étoit guidè par deux Estasiers , & ils étoient suivis de trois superbes carosses de Son Excellence chacun attelé de six chevaux.
Enfin un Escadron de Dragons de Sa Majesté les armes à la main avec les trompettes & les timbales, les tambours & les haubois ferma la marche de cette superbe Cavalcade, qui se rendit en cet ordre par la Nieuvv-ftraete, passant devant la petite boucherie, par le Mont au Calandre, & par la Cruyftraete à l’Eglife Cathédrale de S. Bavon. Les avenües en étoient gardées par des detachemens d’infanterie, tant pour en tenir l’entreé libre & prévenir le desordre, que la trop grande affluence de Peuple auroit pû causer ; que pour laiser un espace, ou les domestiques, les chevaux & les équipages de la Cavalcade fe pûssent ranger.
Le Chapitre de cette Cathédrale en Corps & in habitu attendoit Son Excellence; & l’Eveque de Gand s’étant mis à la tête, ils la reçurent à la grande porte de l’Eglise. Son Excellence aiant avancé quelques pas, l’Eveque luy presenta les reliques de la S. Croix à baiser, ce qu’Elle fit étant à genoux sur un prié-Dieu, que l’on avoit placé à l’entrée de l’Eglise. Ensuite ils la conduisirent jusq’au pied d’un beau Théâtre, qui étoit érigé au milieu de la croisée contre le jubé garni de même que la nef des riches tapissèries de Son Excellence, (qui sont du dessein du célébré peintre Raphaël d’Urbin ) & le fond de ce Théâtre étoit couvert de drap rouge, ainsi que les bancs, qu’on avoit places aux deux cotes en forme de demi cercle.
Son Excellence y étant montée se plaça dans un fauteuil sur une estrade elevèe de trois marches & mise au milieu sous un riche Dais, ou le Portrait de Sa Majesté Impériale & Catholique étoit exposé. Elle avoit devant Elle une table couverte d’un tapis de velou iscramoisi galoné d’or avec le livre des S. Evangiles sur un carreau.

Three Kings of Weapons followed in the front line: Sieur Jean Baptifte Platzaert King of Arms as Mechelen, outfitted with the coat of arms of Flanders in the middle; at right was the Sieur Nicolas de Berckel King of Weapons representing Brabant with the coat of arms of Hainaut, & on the left the Sieur Richard de Grez King of Arms representing Namur also outfitted with gold; the Counts of Flanders having once been Sovereigns of these last two Provinces.
The Hereditary Marshal of the Province walked after with the big unshealthed sword, named Estoc, between the other two Hey rauts Sieur Joseph vauder Leene Councilor & Lieutenant of the State of first King of Arms in the Netherlands outfitted with the coat to the full arms of His Imperial Majesty & Catholic sçavoir those of Spain posed in the heart of a double lmperial eagle to the right; & to the left Sieur Louis van Ursel King of Arms representing Flanders with the coat of arms of Austria each with a Caduceus in the hand & a cap in his head, decorated with feathers.
After, the servants of His Excellency in the number of thirty footmen, four Haiduques, eight Riders, six pages all dressed in scarlet, richly chained with gold went in lines two by two & the head uncovered
His Excellency, whose noble port attracts him the repect of all the world, as much as the graceful air conciliates him the af fection, appeared on a very beautiful horse equipped with magnificence, which corresponded to this august function.

same as that of Hallebardiers on foot & the head discovered preceded her, and surrounded her on all sides.
Behind them came the General Adjudants of the Court, the Eto go to the Gentile Men of His Excellency on horseback; Then twelve horses covered with rich gold embroidered covers and money, with the arms of His Excellency: these horses alloin a row one by one, each was guided by two Estasiers, & they were followed by three superb carriages of His Excellency each one hitched of six horses.
Finally a squadron of Dragons of His Majesty arms in hand with trumpets & timpani drums & oboe closed the march of this superb Cavalcade, who went to this order by the Nieuvv-Ftraete, passing in front of the small butcher's shop, by Mont à Calandre, and by the Cruyftraete to the Catholic Church. The avenues were kept by detainees infantry chemens, both to keep the entry free & prevent disorder, that the overcrowding of people would have been ser; only to leave space, or servants, horses and the crews of the Cavalcade can put away.
The Chapter of this Cathedral in Corps & in habit waited His excellence; and the bishop of Ghent having put himself at the head, they received at the great door of the Church. His Excellency advancing a few steps away, the Bishop presented to him the relics of the S. Cross to kiss, what She did being kneeling on a pray-God, which we had placed at the entrance of the Church. Then they drove her to foot of a beautiful Theater, which was erected in the middle of the crossroads to be the rood screened as well as the nave of the rich carpets of Son Excellency, (who are of the design of the celebrated painter Raphael d'Urthe back of the Theater was covered with red cloth, and if the benches, which had been placed on both sides in the form of mi circle.
His Excellency having ascended to it, placed himself in a chair on a high platform of three steps & put in the middle under a rich Dais, or the Portrait of His Imperial Majesty & Catholic was presentation. She had before her a table covered with a carpet of ve-l or iscramoisi gold braided with the book of S. Gospels on a tile.
