trois Chefs-Colleges, & les Députes des Villes & Pays d’Alost
& de Tenremonde dans l’Eglise de St. Bavon.
Cette ceremonie achevée, tous les Rois d’Armes se tournèrent vers le Peuple à l’entrée du Théâtre, & crièrent trois fois de suite : Vive CHARLES Empereur et Roi , Comte de Flandres: à quoi tout le Peuple, dont cette grande place étoit couverte, & dont toutes les maisons étoient remplies jusques aux toits, répondit par de longs applaudissements, & par des acclamations, qui marquoient vivement son zele & son affection pour leur très Auguste Souverain; & ces cris mêlés au bruit d'une triple déchargé de l’Artillerie des remparts du Château & de la Ville , au son des cloches de triomphe & du Carillon & aux fanfares des trompettes, timbales, haubois & & autres instruments militaires faisoient retentir l’air de l’éclat d’une joie & d’une allegresse universelle.
Dans le meme tems les Rois d’Armes jetterent du Theatre au Peuple des médailles d'or, d’argent & de cuivre pendant que Méssire Thomas de Fraula & Messire Charles Vicomte de Vooght les deuz plus anciens Conseillers des Domaines & Finances de Sa Majesté avec le Receveur General Messire Jacques Jean Baptiste van Uffele en jettoient aussi une grande quantité par les fenestres d’une maison tendüe de drap rouge scituée à la droite du Théâtre vis à vis de la statüe de l’Empereur Charles Quint.
Ces médaillés representoient d’un coté le Portrait de Sa Majesté avec ces mots à l’entour CAROLUS sextus Rom. Imp. et tertius Rex Hisp. & sur le revers un Lion avec ses Lionceaux, qui combatent un Dragon furieux & plusieurs serpens ; & au dessus un Aigle volant, qui emporte dans sa grife un crossant vers le soleil avec cette legende: Constantia et FORTITUDINE.
Ces fonctions étant finies, Son Excellence accompagnée de toute la Cavalcade remonta à cheval, & l’on reprit la marche dans le même ordre par la Camme-straete , la Coninck-straete, le Sant-berg pardevant la Cour de St. George vers l’Hôtel de Ville, dont le frontispice étoit orné d’Inscriptions. On y avoit érigé devant la grande porte un Arc de triomphe, ou l’on voioit au milieu le Portrait de Sa Majesté Impériale & Catholique sous un riche Dais: audessous on avoit aussi placé le Portrait

With this ceremony completed, all the Kings of Weapons went to the People at the entrance of the Theater, and shouted three times immediately: Vive CHARLES Emperor and King, Count of Flanders: what the whole people, including this great place was covered, and all the houses were filled on the roofs, replied with long applause, acclamations, which strongly marked his zeal and his fection for their most august Sovereign; & these cries mingled with the sound of a triple unloaded from the Artillery of the ramparts of City, to the sound of the triumphal bells & the rillon & trumpets, timpani, harpoon & fanfares and other military instruments sound the air of brilliancy a joy and a universal joy.
At the same time the Kings of Weapons cast Theater at the People gold, silver & copper medals while Méssire Thomas de Fraula & Messire Charles Vicomte de Vooght the two oldest advisers of the Domaines & Finances de Sa Majesty with the Receiver General Messire Jacques Jean Baptiste van Uffele also jetted a large amount through the windows of a house stretched out of red cloth, set up on the right of the Theater opposite the statue of the Emperor Charles V.
These medalists represented on one side the Portrait of His jested with these words around CAROLUS sextus Rom. Imp. and tertius Rex Hisp. & on the reverse a Lion with his Cubs fighting a furious Dragon & several serthink; & above a flying eagle, which carries in its grife a crossant towards the sun with this caption: Constantia and FORTITUDINE.
These functions being finished, His Excellency accompanied by the whole Cavalcade rode on horseback, and the march was resumed. in the same order by Camme-straete, Coninck-straete, the Sant-berg through the St. George's Court to the Hotel de City, whose frontispiece was adorned with inscriptions. We had erected in front of the main door a triumphal arch, where you can see in the middle of the Portrait of His Imperial and Catholic Majesty under a rich Dais: below we had also placed the Portrait
