been written a month ---

Sam is well, and is still at work mining. John Griffin and Charles Wright are at work near him, and they are all well, and I guess well contented.

I have not seen Mr Shipley for several days, but presume he is so as to be about, the same as usual ---

When you write an answer to this letter I should be pleased to have you write me all about the "village folks"

Maj Shattuck and family, the Jays, Capell's and all the rest of the folks about there.

How is Sam Kendall? is he just the same as he was when I left home? and where is John? Ann you wrote was married and moved to Shirly [Shirley]. does she live there now. Who lives where Jay used to? and who lives in Mrs Betsy Lawrences house opposite where Jay lived.

Who lives in the Brick House below Kendalls, and who in the house in the corner, near Capells where Mr Harding lived. It is now so long since I have heard anything about these places that I have lost all of news them and hardly know who lives in Pepperell and who dont [don't]. Please write the particulars and much oblige your affct [affectionate] son H. A. Parker [Henry A. Parker]

[in left margin] Give my love to Chas. and Harriet, and remember me to all my old friends. HAP [Henry A. Parker]
