Mrs Cornock acknowledges the receipt of Chip Howard's letter and says she thinks she took time enough to have written a longer one. The Chip Newton's are both better and Chip Susan is able to go in the kitchen. Renea wished us to say that they had not much work a little job came in occasionally but nothing of importance. Mr & Mrs Packard send ther [their] respects to you and was very glad to hear from of you they had been to Mrs Mansfield's to see if she had heard from you. Mr Packard keeps the choir full there is some one in your place and they get along very well with the singing. Mrs Serviss is there yet. Mrs Fawcett was buried last sunday [Sunday]. Your nose (if it is a big one) is out of joint about going into the big house. Mother says you must try to enjoy yourself and not let anything in Albany trouble you.

We received the accompanying letter from John this morning and (after taking a copy) forward it immediately. I need not say how glad we were to hear from him you can well imagine that. The Baby's shoulder is almost well. Mother says it is no use to aske [ask] her whether Mrs Knight will be good to the children for she cannot tell anything about it. She has not been there since and considers that by their actions
