An adjourned meeting of the Trustees was held at the rooms of the Corporation, 16 Pemberton Square, on ~

There were present the President, and Messrs Adams, Bowditch, Cheever, Little, Lovejoy, Norcross, Rand and Read. _

The record of the last meeting was read. _

Comee on Lots report on semi-annual visitations of Lots _

Mr Bowditch, for the Committee on Lots, reported respecting the visitation of the lots during the year by the Committee, that the lots which are in charge of the Corporation are in good order. He also submitted the Treasurer's detailed statement of the fund for the repair of lots as it stood .

The report was accepted. _

Perpet. Repair of Lot 3648

The Secretary stated that the Committee on Lots had contracted for the perpetual care of lot numbered 3648 belonging to Eliza Pallies, for one hundred and twenty five dollars,

Voted that the contract be ratified.

Petitn for Representation of Lot no. 236 _

The Secretary presented the petition of Mrs Harriet M. Miles, widow and devisee of Henry T. Miles, late proprietor of lot numbered 236, that the Revd Henry A. Miles, of Brookline,

who is a part owner of said lot, he designated to represent the same. _

Petitn for Representation of Lot no. 236 referred to Comee

The objection being raised that the Revd Mr Miles is not an "heir or devisee" as contemplated by the charter, and technically not one of the persons from whom the Trustees can select to represent a lot, _

It was

Voted that the petition be referred to a special committee consisting of Messrs Rand and Norcross to consider and report thereon. _

Treasurer's Annual Report _

The Treasurer stated that his Annual Report was nearly ready, and that he would have the same audited and printed in time for the Annual meeting.

Salary of Voted.

Treasurer $1,000. _

That the salary of the Treasurer be one thousand dollars.

Superintendent _ $2,500 &c.

That the salary of the Superintendent be twenty five hundred dollars, the use of house and such wood as he needs for his own use gathered from the premises.

Gatekeeper _ $650 &c.

That the salary of the Gatekeeper be six hundred and fifty dollars, and the usual Sunday allowance provided in the by-laws.

Time of Adjournt

Voted _

That when this meeting is adjourned, it be to the next regular meeting _ the 2d Tuesday in March. _

Report on petitn of Harriet M. Miles _ for designation of Revd Henry A. Miles

Mr Rand, for the Comee to which was referred the petition of Harriet M. Miles, devisee in trust of lot no. 236, asking that the Revd Henry A Miles of Brookline, who is a part owner, be designated to represent said lot. _

as Representative of Lot 236 rejected _

Reported in writing _

That the charter authorizes the Trustees to designate the representative of a lot only from the "devisers or heirs at law" of a deceased proprietor: _ that the Revd Dr Miles is not either a devisee or heir at law, although a part owner, and therefore not eligible to said appointment.

He therefore recommended that the petition be not granted.

The report was accepted.

Perpetual Repair of Lot 3281 _

The Secretary reported that the Committee on Lots had contracted with Edwin Booth, the proprietor of lot numbered thirty two hundred and eighty one (3281) for the perpetual care of said lot on payment of five hundred and fifty dollars.

Voted that said contract be ratified.

Story Lot Fund _ Story Statue Fund _

The Treasurer suggested the adoption of the following vote, which was passed: _

"That the Committee on Lots be instructed to direct the Treasurer how to charge the bills paid in 1864 for improvements to the lot of the late Joseph Story; and to ascertain if, in any way, the balance of the fund for the Story Statue can be appropriated thereto."
