Dear Sir,

This will be handed you by Mr H. L. Hale whom I have Employed as fireman this season. I should like to have the Engine put together now as speedily as possible and for this purpose you can procure the couplings ( [?] & 3 elbows) 1 1/4 inch at Monile & Hookers.

Before you begin to pump regularly I shall want Mr Hale's services on some work which Mr M^cArthur will show him about.
