Dear Sirs:-

In regard to your enquiry as to the Hon. H. H. Gilmore's lot, I find that the distance from the lot line to the line of the path must not exceed five feet. The rise from the path to the lot will not be over nine inches. The width of the front of the lot is twelve feet, and I need hardly remind you that the extreme width of the entrance posts, steps and buttresses must not exceed half that width, that is six feet, and that border stones are not permissible. The depth of the underground roots of the corner posts should not be less than five feet. A post that only goes below the frost line is not considered of proper depth, as graves are made close to these posts and any sinking of the grave is followed by the tipping of the post, unless it reaches as far as the bottom of the grave.

Respectfully yours,

Supt.

I would say that the lot line above referred to is the inside line of the present posts.
