Dear Sir

I find on sending to Lot 1715 to clean the headstones and right the base that no foundation was ever built for the base, to rest on, as this would cost about $7.00 to build I did not think it expedient to go to that expense without further consulting you.

I shall have the stones cleaned and the base righted, at, a small expense but cannot tell how soon frost or the weight of the stone will throw it out of plumb again.

Of course the foundation can be built whenever you wish.
