Jas. W. Lovering elected.

Mr James W. Lovering: – and he was accordingly declared duly elected to the office of Superintendent, as aforesaid.

Salary, &c, fixed.

Voted, – that the salary of the Superintendent be fixed at $2500.– for the ensuing year, and that he shall have the use of a house with the grounds thereto belonging, the use of a horse and vehicle, and the services of one man, at the expense of the Corporation.

W. W. Blackmar. Com. from asking leave to remove certain remains from lot 2017.

A communication having been received from Dr. Brewer in behalf of the Committee on Interments, asking the instructions of the Board in regard to an application made by W. W. Blackmar, , for leave to remove from Lot No 2017 owned by Amos H. Powers the remains of Sarah L. and May Susan Blackmar, which were interred in said Lot , the present address of the said Powers being unknown, and the said Blackmar agreeing to be "responsible for any damage or complaint which may result from the removal": it was, after discussion,

Referred to Com. on Interments to cons. & report.

Voted, – that the subject be referred to the Committee on Interments to consider and report.

Com. on Birds. C. F. Choate excused from service on Com. to consist of Dr. T. M. Brewer.

Mr Choate having asked to be excused from serving upon the Special Committee on Birds, it was

Voted, – that the request of Mr Choate be acceded to, and that the aforesaid Special Committee on Birds consist of Dr. Thomas M. Brewer.

The Secretary having stated that the Committee on Lots had recommended the Trustees to guaranty the perpetual repair of Lot No 139 on Willow Avenue, East branch, belonging

A monthly meeting of the Trustees was held on Wednesday , at Four P.M.

Present, Messrs. J. T. Bradlee, N. J. Bradlee, Choate, Lawrence, Little, Perkins, Pickering and Snow.

The record of the last meeting was read and approved.

W. W. Blackmar Report of Com. on Interments respecting appn of to remove certain remains from Lot 2017 Accepted.

A written Report was received from the Committee on Interments to whom was referred the application of W. W. Blackmar for authority to remove the bodies of two persons buried in the Lot of Amos H. Powers, without the written consent of the owner of the Lot; stating "that in their opinion the legal title of the Lot having vested in Mr Powers, the Trustees have no legal right to grant authority to any person, without the owner's consent, to remove bodies therefrom."

Voted, – that the Report of the Committee be accepted.

Monthly schedule of Bills referred to President.

A file of Bills with accompanying schedule having been submitted to the Board by the Treasurer, in compliance with the requirements of the By-Laws, and the schedule having been read by the President, it was

Voted, – that said bills be referred to the President for his approval and payment by the Treasurer if found correct

Monthly statement of Sales of Lots accepted and placed on file.

The President also submitted a written communication from the Superintendent dated , covering statements of the cost of the Catalogue and Map of 1867, and recommending the preparation and issue of a revised and corrected Edition of the Map.

Voted, – that the request of Mr Colman and the aforesaid communication of the Superintendent be referred to the Committee on Lots

Mt Auburn Guides: supply of in hands of gate=keeper.

The President also submitted a written communication from the Superintendent, dated , with accompanying papers, touching the maintenance of the supply of "Mount Auburn Guides" in the hands of the gate=keeper for sale to visitors.
