Diaphoretics

tonic effects the substance or decoction is to be used, if its Diaphoretic effect give from Ʒfs [½ dram] to Ʒi [1 dram] at a dose of the saturated hot infusion. This medicine has been used in many forms of Typhus Fever but the Pulvis Doveri has been so successfull in my hands that I have not try'd the former. In Dropsy also with to its Diuretic and Diaphoretic power, it is much praised by the Physicians of Massachusetts.
