Sparta 2nd January 1822

Dear Sir)

I herein inclose you the certificate of the clerk of our court certifying the removal of Joseph Frank, Esq from this county, which leaves the neighbourhood from which he removed remotely situate from a Justice of the Peace; you will discover from the short Petition drawn up in a hurry, with but few signers to that George Ailsworth is the person recommended to fill the vacancy. I have been long acquainted with Mr. Ailsworth, and know him to be a man of experience, and integrity he once haveing [sic] acted in the commission of the Peace in this county, and rendered general satisfaction, and I have no doubt would if appointed do so again. I therefore hope you will commission him, and forward his comm= =ission so that he may be qualified at our next court which, sets the third monday

His Excelency [sic] William Carroll. We the undersigned Citizens of the County of White, Within the bounds of Captain John Markhams Company of Militia, labour under disadvantages, from our remote situation from a Justice of the Peace owing to the resent [sic] removal from the County of Joseph Franks Esqr as appears from the clerks Certificate, which removal took place about the close of the last session of the legislature. we therefore hope your excelency [sic] will appoint and Commission George Ailsworth a Justice of the Peace dureing [sic] the recess of the Legislature, in whose skill and integrity, we have had hetherto the strongest proofs of, in the commission of the Peace, and many other occasions And we your Humble Petitioners as in duty bound will every pray
