in your communications and recommend^ed to us as objects of legislative attention shall meet with that due investigation and deliberation that the importance and magnitude of the different subjects require -

We beg leave now Sir, to express our gratifi =cation of being the witnesses of your being once more call'd by the unanimous suffrage of the freemen of Tennessee to the Seat of the chief magistrate of the State; and expressing our fullest confidence that you will continue to execute those duties which appertain to your office with that firmness judgement and impartiality which has heretofore characterized the chief Magistrate of Tennessee.

Know all men by these presents that we John Maclin, Nathanael Taylor, Abraham Byler, Nathanal B Buckingham, Thomas Buckingham, William Cocke and John Cocke - - - - are held and firmly bound unto Archibald Roane esquire Governor of the State of Tennessee in the penal sum of twenty thousand Dollars, to be paid to the said Archibald Roane Governor &c or his successors in office; for the truth payment whereof, we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators, jointly, severally and firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this second Day of October 1801.~

The Condition of the above Obligation is such, that whereas the above bounded John Maclin was on the first day of September October Instant, elected by joint ballot of both houses of the Legislature, treasurer for the state in the Districts of Washington and Hamilton; Now if the said John Maclin shall well and truly demean himself in the appointment of Treasurer aforesaid, and shall well and truly
