Mr Bradshaw Sherriff of Murry County

Sir I see a reward offerdid for Mantain Gurley of fifty Dollars I once started ^to Come and se you a bout hit but was taken [soonare? so on woe?] that that I was obliged to turn my Cours Abraham Skidmore will caul on you for acertificate to the govennor or Wm Alexander seccertary at Knoxville if there is any need of any Recept Abraham Skidmore is hearby authorised to sign my my name and to any Recpt and hit shall be as good as if I my self had signed the same/ and ^I want you to give my Brothe all the Infermation about or Expence whether Cost allowed were any thin or not and your Compliance will vary much oblige your friend and will wisher &c

I do hereby certify that I recd from hands of John Skidmore Martin Gurley for whom you the Governor offered the reward of fifty Dollars having escaped from my custody on the 10th of June last Given under my hand this 29th day of Oct 1816

David Campbell [Laclan?] for the County of Maury (Ten)

State of Tennessee Maury County.

I Will Bradshaw Sheriff of said County do Certify that David Campbell whose signature appears to the above Certificate is duly appointed a qualified as Geoaler for said County and fully Authorised to transact all and every business relative to the said appointment.

Recd ^from Treasurer of East Tennessee this day fifty Dollars for the appre =hension of the within Named Martin Gurley who was arrested under the Governors Proclamation &c Given under my hand date as above
