of the Resolution of the Senate, referred to, in the foregoing letter

In Senate of the United States January 14^th 1819.

Resolved that the President of the United States be requested to institute a negotiation with the Chickasaw Tribe of Indians, for the Cession of a Tract of land, four miles square, including a salt spring reserved to said Tribe by the 4^th article of a Treaty concluded with said nation on the nineteenth day of October 1818: said Cession, when made shall be for the benifit [sic] of the State of Tennessee, on said state paying the expense of holding said Treaty
