To His Honor the Mayor and Common Council, of the City of Seattle, The undersigned citizens of said City, believing that it would be of very great and lasting advantage to the commercial interest, as well as to the city at large, that a steet 150 feet wide be laid out by the city for a public highway, commencing on the West Side of Commercial Street, at or near the intersection of Brunswick and Commercial Streets, thence running West to a point within 200 feet of the R.R. Avenue, thence Westerly parallel with R.R. Ave. to the City limits. Communication read from the Mayor presenting the following names for confirmation for the Board of Library Commissions for the term of 1 year C. M. Shaefe 2 years Mrs. A. B. Stewart 3 years E. C. Brainerd 4 years Mrs. J. C. Haines 5 years Cal Geo. G. Lyons, all of whom were confirmed by a full vote.

Communication from the Mayor presenting the following names for confirmation for the Board of Park Commissioners. For the term of 1 year Daniel Jones 2 years W. E. Burgers 3 years Abram Barker 4 years James Weed 5 years W. E. Baily all of which were confirmed by full vote except James Weed rejected by vote of 8 to 1.

Communication from the H of D read as follows To the Hon B of A. Gentlemen: The H of D are now ready to receive your Hon. Body in joint session. T. F. Tomsley Clerk R. W. Jones Pres.

Recesss to meet the H of D in joint session. Board called to order. Motion to adjourn until Friday Oct 24/90 at 7:30 p.m. Carried

Seattle, Wash May 12 1892 The Honorable the Board of Police Commission of Seattle Gentlemen In view of the theft missdemeanors and trespasses constantly occuring and likely to occur in the City Park; also the probable inability of your then Board to detail such necessary police force, as to afford a proper and continued surveillance.

The board respectfully suggest and request that its Superintendant have such authority rested on him by your Hon board, that he may delegate such to the Park Keepers and tenders during their hours of service in order to better to protect the Cities Park property.

All to conform agreeably to you rules and regulations and instructions.
