Application for Intelligence Office License.

SEATTLE, Oct 14, 1901

TO THE CITY COMPTROLLER of the City of Seattle, Wash.

I, the undersigned, hereby apply for a license to keep an Intelligence Office, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 1356, an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to license and regulate the keepers of Intelligence Offices and the business of Employment Agencies in the City of Seattle," approved May 16, 1890, at No. 102, Washington Street for the period of 3 months, ending January 15, 1902 John Guerin Applicant.

Certificate to the Character of the Applicant.

We, the undersigned citizens of the City of Seattle, certify that in our opinion John Guerin, who makes the above application for a license to keep an Intelligence Office is a person of good moral character.

This Application must be endorsed by three reputable citizens of Seattle.

Know All Men by These Presents, That we, John Guerin, as principal, and and German - American Invstment Co., as sureties, are held and firmly bound unto the City of Seattle, a municipal corporation, duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the Territory (now State) of Washington, in the penal sum of One Thousand ($1,000) Dollars, lawful money of the United States of America, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. SEALED with our seals, and dated this 14 day of October, 1901 Whereas, The above named bounden, John Guerin, has been licensed by the City of Seattle to keep an Intelligence office in said City for three months from the 15th day of October 1901 Now, Therefore, The condition of the foregoing obligation is such that if the said bounden, John Guerin, shall well and truly pay all judgments recovered against him for any violation of Ordinance No. 1356 of the City of Seattle, together with such judgment and costs as may be recovered against him by any person or persons on account of any willful misrepresentations or for willfully deceiving any person transacting any business with the said bounden, and pay all damages by reason of demanding or receiving any unusual or exorbitant fee, or guilty of any deception whatever to any person who may employ the said bounden or who may employ or engage any person to perform work or render services for any other person, and shall faithfully and fully comply with all the terms, provisions, and requirements of the said Ordinance No. 1356, then the above obligation to be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
