Dear Friend Ed, I have only been out of the service for one month & am selling the complete lines of So. Cotton Oil Co. in this old Southern State. Wish you could be with me.

When I arrived at my brother's home I found your card & surely appreciated it, especially was I glad to hear of you [your] success & safety in many ways, I congratulate you, & am sure that Uncle Sam was quite wise in choosing you as one to lead the boys.

I had quite a short, snappy week in S.F. & another
