Mrs V. A. Shedd Watertown Mass

Dear Madam, I lately made a deed to you as proprietor of lot No. 3058 in Mt Auburn under the name of Mrs Vernon A Shedd.

In making up the register of interments, I have past discovered that the order for the interment of your husband gives him the name of Varnum A Shedd.

Of course one or the other must be wrong. Will you please state, by return of mail, which name is correct, and oblige

Yours truly A.J. Coolidge Sec.y Mt Auburn

33 School St. Boston Alexr Wadsworth, Esq

Dear Sir, I have seen Mr Mann, and sought an explanation of the changes made upon the plan, or rather, required to be made by his mistake in not using the old numbers. He says it was his mistake, which he sought to rectify at the Treasurer's office before the deeds were ordered, but found it was too late.

The number 3013 has been given to what was 537 on Olive Path, and 3054 to what was 2139 (not 2137 as you state) on Hibiscus Path.

As nobody has been harmed, I see no need of going to the Trustees -but simply to erase a location opposite to the old numbers in the catalogue, and put the new number in the plan in place of the old. Nothing else now, of course, can be done.

If you are unwilling to make the change without a vote, please notify me before next Monday, and I will have you authorized.

Truly yours A.J. Coolidge Secretary

Boston Alexr Wadsworth Esq

Dear Sir, The following action was had at the meeting of the Trustees of Mt. Auburn, today, upon your request.-

"Upon information by the surveyor, Mr. Wadsworth, that lot numbered 537 on Olive Path had been sold as lot 3013, and 2139 on Hibiscus Path had been sold as lot 3054, and that lot 2933 had been removed from [Harebell?] Path to Spruce Avenue, and as deeds had been made accordingly.

Voted that Mr Wadsworth be authorized to make the above named corrections upon the plans."

Truly yours A.J. Coolidge Secretary.

Boston, Messrs Little & Nazro, Comee on Finance

Gentlemen, at the adjourned meeting of the Trustees of this cemetery of Mount Auburn held this day, the Treasurer stated that the care of the repair fund had become somewhat onerous without any compensation being allowed him therefor: and he requested the Trustees to consider whether anything should be allowed him for that duty.

Voted - thereforThat this question be referred to the Committee on Finance, to report thereon at the next meeting.

Very respectfully yours A.J. Coolidge Secretary
