Huns." dear old boy.

I told you I think that Jocelyns neck cracked badly one day lately & we took him to Dr. Walkins the best I know since Dr. Eaves went into the service - He had him X Ray photoed again & nothing is found wrong . Which is a great relief - He is in charge of the smaller ranch now.

Kinkie is as interesting & attractive as ever. The figs a ripe now many of them at least. So his chief joy is hunting them & he seems very gentle & lovable again for a while he did not [underlined] seem so.

All well here so far -- a good deal of the Spanish Influenza about but father & I & Eleanor Jack & John, so far have escaped it -- Fondest love my darling -- May God preserve you & bring you safe home to us -- Your loving mother R. H Bates
