your Commissions his idea is a good watch – but as you already have one we don't quite know what to do about it –

There is a letter here for Les also – which has not been opened as Les is gone over to Berkeley to see Prof Richardson & some others.

Les wrote me last Monday while I was at San Diego still that he expected his Commission on Wednesday – so I shipped the Dodge up by freight & went on up to Cullodens.

He did not get it until Thursday – but got also five days leave of absence so we came up here together on Friday night. It was blazing hot both at Riverside & Los Angeles so it was a relief to get where it is cooler – Les looks fine in his bars & wings! He has not yet been physically examined – but will be on the return he thinks – He is trying to see Prof Richardson so that he can find out [underlined] the possibilities of being transferred to other work or departments in case [underlined] he has
