Edwd Holbrook Esq

Dear Sir,

In my absence a day or two time ago you left a written request that Joseph Fox might work on lot no 890, standing in the name of Edward Holbrook who died in 1847.

Some years since I urged upon you the importance of having the lot represented by someone, but you decided not to do anything about it. Again in I wrote you urging the importance [to the heir?] as well as the Corporation of having a representative appointed [but I?] have received no reply.

I have only to [?] that no one can receive my permit to work on the lot until the regulations have been complied with.

Resp.y yours

A. J. Coolidge Sec.y

Mrs F. M. W. Young

Dear Madam,

I send an affidavit for you to make before a judge ^or clerk of any Court of Record in your county: it is less expensive than before a Commissioner. Please fill the blanks for dates, name &c. If your father died leaving other children than yourself & they have since died, you can easily have the blank altered to meet the case, by interlining, after the words [?] [expired?] & heir -- the words -- "who is now living". --

I think it is best that the lot should be transferred directly to you: then we shall know who is the owner. In , upon your request, Joseph Arnold was appointed to represent it; but I have not heard of him for years, & it had better be changed now. If you get the affidavit back to me within a week, it will be in season to print in catalogue. At all events, send it as soon as you can, and I will get it in if not too late. I also send bill for the transfer fee.

Respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y
