Capt D.L. Winsor

Dear Sir,

I have consulted the President in reference to the name and numbering of the new public Lot, and he had decided as follows:-- Name - "St. Paul." Numbers - Begin at "One"; and as the lot is a large one, reserve the two hundred old numbers which you say are on hand to the time when they will be wanted, or plant them, if you like, where they will eventually be wanted.

Please have the record of interments correspond with this. I think Miss Haliburton had a certificate last Saturday which had been issued to Mr Cunard of Halifax as "247 ___ lot." which should be "1 St Paul."

Mr F. Lyman Winship, propr of 422 Central Av. wishes a report made on that lot in respect to perpet. repair. He says there are no monuments, headstones or fence.

Mrs Charlotte J. Bond of Lowell wishes the work of resodding &c. which was to the done on lots 1813 & 1814 to be done this fall, if possible.

Yours Resp.y

A.J. Coolidge

Geo. Bates' memorial leave to withdraw

Upon the request of George Bates, Proprietor of lots 708 & 2263, presented at the meeting in January, (see p. 58) that the number 2263 might be erased, & that the lot might become part of lot 708. _

The Committee have ascertained that the lots are entirely separate & they deem it inexpedient that they should be united in one number. _

Voted that the same be accepted. _

Lots 420, 421, 422 - Petition for change of numbers upon record refused.

Upon the petition of H. W. Dutton, Freeman Winship for the heirs of Jonathan Winship, & S.S. Holton, proprietors of lots 420, 421, & 422 respectively, presented at the meeting in February, ^(see p. 58) referred to this Board of Trustees, to by them at the March Meeting, referred to the aforesaid Committee & the Secretary: _ asking that the numbers upon their deeds, & the record of the same may be changed, so as to correspond with the numbers of the lots as actually occupied by them, according to a statement submitted by them: _

The Committee have been unable to determine from so distant a period, how the error originally arose: but independently of that consideration they deem it improper to authorize the alteration of the record as it would involve a departure from the system which has been uniformly observed - a correspondence between the number of the deed & the page of the record; and they see no necessity in this instance, since the parties by making transfers from one to the other, can obtain what they desire. _

They therefore report that the petitioners have leave to withdraw. _

Voted that the report be accepted. _
