school opens on Monday the 26th, so I think you are running too close. You ought to have a week before school at home, so ought to arrange to be here Sunday the 18th. If you go on that picnic on the 17th, could you not leave that night by rail and get home Sunday? However you do what you think is right, but dont stay away to the last minute.
Give my love to Henry and Effie and Alice. I am sure they will miss you. I do hope they will come up here soon, for we are very fond of them.
There is no news. Mr. Neibling has gone on his vacation, so I am full of work.
Now Edward dear God bless you my boy and give you many many more years of usefulness in this world. We want to see you make much of yourself, for the good you can do to others, and your preparation for your place in this world should be always with that end in view.
