three months experience at sea.

All the boys in our class whom I have heard about are in some branch of the service. Claude Rohiver is a second lieutenant in field artillery, stationed in Virginia. Larry Mitchell is at an O.T.C. at Camp MacArthur, Texas. Olin Wellborn, Ken Vaughan and Harold Weise got into the last Ensign's school down at San Pedro. Jack Reith has been at the Master Gunner's school at Fort Scott and is now going east to an O.T.C. in heavy artillery. Did you know that Jimmy Merritt is married to Maurinne Gillam? And Helen Baker stunned all the sisters by marrying Ralph Reynolds. Did you know him? She met him six months ago and went out with him just four [underlined] times before he went east. He proposed by letter, came out here on a furlough and three days later they were married, and on their way back to the east. Ed, you'd better look over the available supply of French girls --matrimony is certainly the last word these days.

I saw Margaret Rolph to-day. Her husband has gone across and she is taking a business course. Can you imagine that? Margaret, of all people!

This letter reads like a class or matrimonial directory, but I hope you find some new information in it. When you get a chance let me know how you are getting on, won't you? Wishing you lots of luck,

Sincerely, Leslie
