Yesterday afternoon we sat out on the porch and acted like two year olds, we were so silly. It seemed good to see Martha like her old self again. Since she has been married she seems so different. I read some stories in a magazine and then played solataire [solitaire]. Mabel made some lemonade as it was pretty warm.
In the evening Mabel and Ruth went up to the P. O. [Post Office] Martha and I stayed home. When the kids got back I read out loud to them "In Secret" by Robert Chambers. It isn't written very wonderful but it is exciting. It takes place during the war.
We went to bed early.
