Trustees' Report

Trustees' Report.

During the past year extensive improvements have been made at the Cemetery, whereby land, hitherto unavailable has been prepared for sale, providing desirable lots to meet the public demand. Additional Greenhouse accommodations have been provided, in accordance tithe the plan inaugurated the previous year. New buildings for mechancial and storage purposes have been erected, on the Stone Meadow, thereby releasing a portion of the grounds in the vicinity of the Engine House heretofore encumbered, affording an opportunity for laying out attractive and valuable lots, and at the same time improving the general character of a large surrounding territory. Repairs have been made wherever required on the various buildings, and it is believed that, with the exception of repointing the chapel and Tower, which will soon be necessary, the condition of all the structures is now so good that little additional expense need be incurred for a considerable period

Work has been continued on the Receiving Tomb, the vestibule and fifty compartments for burial being now nearly completed.

The excavaton of Halcyon Lake, and improvement of grounds in its immediate vicinity have progressed satisfactorily, advantage having been taken of the unusually low state of the water to forward the work as much as possible. The locality has long been in an unsightly condition, and it is the desire of the Trustees to complete the improvement at the earliest practicable time, that it may become a source of revenue to the corporation, and also in justice to those Proprietors
