Lot 758. Plan to be altered.

A letter from Mr Howe, made it known that it appeared from an examination of the ground plan of the Cemetery that number 758, had been used twice. Thereupon Voted - That the surveyor be authorized to erase one, and substitute another, approved by the Committee on lots, to be in unison with the deeds.

J H Monroe [sic] & A. Stewart petition for purchase of small Lots to be paid for in labor - without choice money

Mr Howe's letter also preferred the request of John H. Munroe and Andrew Stewart, two men who have been in the employ of the Corporation for the last four years, and who have selected each a remnant lot of 110 or 120 square feet each and both of whom have buried children, that they may be exempted from the payment of choice money for said lots, and may pay for them in labor. Voted, that this application be referred to the Committee on Lots with full powers.

Lots. 1080. & 1081. Perpetual Repair of.

Mr Tisdale presented a communication from himself and Mr S. K. Hewins, the proprietors of lots 1080 and 1081 particularly describing those lots and the adjoining land owned by them, and asking the Trustees to fix a sum to be immediately paid to the Treasurer, in consideration of which the said lots and grounds shall be forever kept, preserved, ornamented and repaired in the manner set forth in said communication, so that they may be forever secured in their good condition _ Referred to the Committee on Lots.

Trustees. .

Pursuant to notices issued in the usual manner a meeting of the Trustees was holden on the at the office of Charles P. Curtis Esqr.

Present. Messrs Bigelow, Crockett, Curtis, Parker & Read. The Record of the last meeting was read and approved.

Lot 1917, Divided into two lots.

The Committee on Lots reported in writing that Lot no. 1917 on Sorrel Path may be divided into two lots of 300 square feet each, one to retain that number, and one to receive a new number: that to effect this the present owner may transfer to the Corporation, and receive two new deeds accordingly on the payment of $20. choice money:

Munroe and Stewart's Petition Granted

Also that the request of Jno. H. Munroe and And. Stewart, laborers in the Cemetery, preferred at the last meeting be granted:

Lots 1080 and 1081 The Perpetual Repair of.

Also that they had agreed to contract with Messrs Tisdale and Hewins to take charge of their lots &c according to their letter dated Dec. 8. 1852 upon the payment of the sum of $1500. to the Treasurer.

The report was read, and accepted.

The Secretary laid before the board a draft of a formal contract between Messrs Tisdale and Hewins and the Corporation, prepared by their Solicitor, which was read aloud to the meeting, and after some discussion it was

Voted. That this Corporation will contract with Messrs Tisdale & Hewins for the perpetual care of their lots and ornamental grounds and the adjacent paths, with the structures, trees, shrubs &c in the form of an instrument this day presented to the Trustees, and that the Treasurer be authorized to execute said instrument on behalf of this corporation, affixing thereto its Corporate Seal, providing

Bill on Lots of Tisdale & Hewins referred to Com. on Lots _

A communication from J. Tisdale Bradlee to the Treasr respecting the payment of a bill for repairs upon the lots of Mace Tisdale and S.K. Hewins (1080, 1081 &c) was read. _

Voted that the same be referred to the Committee on Lots with full power. _

Report of Finance Comee on Salaries _

Mr Little for the Finance Committee reported verbally on the subject of salaries referred to the Comee: _

That the Committee has deemed it advisable to adopt for the regular compensation of officers the same rates as were paid last year, leaving the question of any additional compensation, which had been asked for to be passed upon this^Board in the form of gratuities.

The report was accepted. _
