Der Madam: -

The fence on your lot is broken and unsightly, and should be removed or repaired. As it has been in this condition for some time, will you please give the matter your early attention

Geo. H. Peters,Esq., Boston.

Dear Sir: -

The fence on lot 2068, Central ave., in the name of the heirs of S. K. Williams needs to be painted. The donation of $40.00 is not enough to cover this expense. Will the heirs be willing to pay for this or would they consent to the removal of the fence, which can be done for the old material.

Respectfully yours,

Supt.

Boston 33 School St. Mrs Hannah M. Greenwood

Dear Madam,

I have been unusually busy this week, and although I took the minutes of the monument Monday to send you, have been presented from doing so until now.

I have had the monument removed to Alexr Mc Donald's marble works for cleanings.-

The free stone plinth resting upon the underground foundation is 27 inches square - or 2ft. 3 inches; and that or an inch or two more - say 28 or 29 inches should be the size of the foundation. To secure the monument against heaving by frost, the foundation should be three feet deep of cobble stones, beneath, with flat stones on top secured with mortar and made perfectly level. A mason who understands his trade, will know how to do this, or any decent mechanic.

As to the weight of the monument and plinth, Mr McDonald estimated to be about 1800 or 1900 - call it one ton. A team of two horses would draw it quite easily. One horse could do it, if the road is not much uphill, and muddy. Perhaps you can arrange with some one who comes down to market, to take it in on his return. He should have two or three cloths or bark mats to keep it from chafing.

I will have the remains, also at Mr McDonald's.

If you can give me the number of your monument lot in the new Cemetery - if you have numbers there, Mr McDonald will cut it on the plinth, where now 895 in. He will remove the 895 by cutting out a little pannel, which will not disfigure it. I will let it remain however until you reply.

Please sign these papers - orders for removal, and return them to me; and say whether you wish a member cat. & what. I will notify you when all is ready.

Yours truly, A.J. Coolidge
