Comee to receive, sort &, count Votes for Trustees _

On the motion of Thomas J. Lee, Esq. Voted that a Committee of three be chosen to receive, sort and count the votes. _

The chair appointed Messrs Tho's J. Lee, Johnson C. Burrage & John G Wetherell as such a Committee.

"Mount Auburn Memorial."

Mr Joseph Bird offered the following resolution: _ That the Mt Auburn Memorial edited and published by Mr Safford and his sons, containing as it does, well selected and original articles upon cemeteries, monuments, Tombs, Scenery &c is worth of the support of the Proprietors of Mt Auburn and other Cemeteries,

The resolution was seconded by Rev. A. B. Fuller, and was unanimously adopted.

Trustees.

Fitchburg R. R. Co. Proposal relative to Gateway, &c. declined

A ^verbal Report was received from the Committee on Grounds in reference to the several communications made to this Board by the Fitchburg R. R. Co. asking for the establishment of a gatewey to the Cemetery near the Mt Auburn Station of said Railroad, – stating that, in the opinion of the Committee, the establishment of such a gateway was inexpedient, for reasons stated, and recommending the suspension of further negotiations on the subject.

Voted, – that the above Report be accepted.

Spruce Av. } Acacia Path, } Saffron Path, } Insufficient drainage upon & near. Report of Committee on Grounds concerning.

A verbal Report was received from the same Committee, accompanied by a written communication and drawings from the Superintendent, in regard to the memorial of certain owners of Lots on Spruce Avenue, Acacia Path and Saffron Path, asking the attention of the Trustees to the insufficient drainage of their Lots, and of other land in the vicinity. The Report stated that the Committee, after careful inspection of the premises, consultation with the Superintendent, and full consideration of the subject had been unable to devise any practicable plan for the accomplishment of the desired object.

Voted, – that the above Report be accepted.

Conference with petitioners recommended.

On motion of Mr Little, it was

Voted, – that the Committee on Grounds be authorized to invite the petitioners to a conference on the subject.

Need of Organ in Chapel represented by Joseph Bird.

The President stated that Mr Joseph Bird of Watertown had called upon him with a letter of introduction from the Superintendent, for the purpose of calling attention to the need of an Organ in the Chapel, to be used at Funeral services, and offering, in case an Organ should erected there, to provide gratuitously such vocal music as might be required.
