Supt. to have access to books for examination, and a hearing when he shall desire _

Upon the communication of the Superintendent, Mr Rand moved "that this Board will hear any explanation from Mr Mann whenever the President shall call a meeting for that purpose _ that he shall have free access to the books at this office, and that the Committee shall furnish him, so far as they may be able, with specifications of the charges made against him".

And the motion was unanimously adopted.

Division of lot 2025, – T. T. Sawyer's – authorized, and two lots to be made of same _

Mr Curtis, Chairman of the Committee on Lots presented the following communication from Timothy T Sawyer, proprietor of Lot No 2025, and stated that the Committee saw no objection to the request being granted.

Charlestown .

To the Trustees of Mt Auburn Cemetery

Lot No 2025, standing in my name, really belongs one half to me, and one half to Mrs Susan M Sawyer, widow of my brother, the late William Sawyer, and I respectfully request that it may be divided, and a deed given to Mrs Sawyer for one half, or 320 feet, the whole lot containing 640 feet.

authorized, in accordance with the petition of the proprietor, _ that, upon reconveyance to the corporation, new deeds be issued granting 320 feet each to the said Timothy T. and Susan M. Sawyer.

The meeting was then adjourned.

Trustees - Special Meeting .

A Special meeting of the Trustees of Mount Auburn was held on called by the President upon the written request of five trustees.

There were present, the President, Messrs Cheever, Crocker, Curtis, Nazro, Rand and Read.

The record of the adjourned meeting was read.

The President stated that the meeting had been called at the request of several of the Trustees, because ^under the vote passed at the last meeting a doubt had arisen whether the Superintendent was authorized to attend to any business at the Cemetery except by the direction of the Committee on Lots, in each specific case, and that said Committee were unwilling to assume any such duty of detail.

Comee on Lots to instruct the Superintendent to attend to & perform the necessary work at Cemetery _

Upon motion of Mr Read it was

Voted that the Committee on Lots be requested, at their discretion, to instruct the Superintendent to attend to and perform the necessary work at Mount Auburn.
