70 Columbia Jan 14th 1894 The Town Council at the Town Hall Mayor Hutchinson presiding the following councilmen present:- Sullivan, Willacy, Schade The minutes of the last meeting read and motion approved. The oath of office of councilmen elect Thomas McKay & C N Groat read and placed on file. Ordinance #41 Regulating the operations of street cars read and on motion laid on the table until Tuesday Jan 9th Motion made and carried that a committee of two be appointed to see Mr Camp in regard to the replacing of plank on Rainier Avenue and the Mayor appointed councilmen Willacy & Groat. Motion made and carried to adjourn to meet Monday Jan 8th at 8 o'clock PM Approved Jan 8th 1893 B R Shaw town clerk C P Hutchinson mayor

71 Columbia June 8th 1894 The town council met at the Town Hall pursuant to adjournment Mayor C P Hutchinson presiding Roll Call and the following councilmen present- McKay, Willacy, and Groat The minutes of the last meeting read and on motion approved. The committee appointed to see Mr. Camp about replacing the planks on Rainier Ave report and on motion the report accepted and the committee is charged. Motion made and caried that Clerk notify Mr. Camp in writing that unless the planks referred to above are not replaces within four days the will be replaced by the town and the cost charged to the Rainier Ave Electric Ry. The reports of the following officers read and on motion accepted and places on file Engineer report for months of Nov & Dec on work done on Angeline St by Contractors:- Bill from John Mullins for lumber $8.34 Bill from Joseph Hellenthal for work $1.54 less 60 ft 1 in pipe 90cents 66 cents net. Bill from Z C Miles Co for pipe and fitting $79.08 Bill from S C Woodman for Engineering work on Angeline St $22.75 Bill from J C Heuff for work done on Angeline St grade $6.00 Also warrants ordered drawn to pay the following Bills read and accepted Nov 6th Joseph Hellenthal $12.19 A Hughston .38 A Larson 4.43 S Pierson 3.25 Frank Walls 7.25 E F Wood .75 R Palmer .50 H Bemiss 2.75 J C Huff 2.50 Hughes, Hastings & Stedman 45.00

Columbia Jan 9th 1894 The Council met at the Town Hall, Mayor Hutchinson presiding. Roll Call and the following councilmen present Willacy, McKay and Groat The minutes of the last meering read and approved The committee appointed to inspect the work done on Angeline Street. Report that the work o far is satifactory and the same was accepted and committee discharges. The Treasurer allowed to correct his report The Treasurer's Supplementory report read and onmotion accepted. the oath of Office and Councilmen electWillacy, Chase, and Calder read and on motion acepted and ordered placed on file and the above gentlemen requested to take there respected seats as councilmen. The Bond and oath of office of O A Schade as Treasurer elect read and ordered duley and legally qualified as Treasurer of the Town of Columbia: The Marshall's report for his official year read and on motion accepted and ordered placed on file. Ordinance #41 Relating to the operating and control of Electric Railway cars in the Town of Columbia read and discussed and on motion laid on the table until next meeting and a committee composed of councilmen McKay, Groat, and Calder, appointed to interview Mr Camp in reference to the above ordinance. Motioin read and carried that the saleries of the appointed officers be decided upon before they are appointed. Motion made and lost that the Clerk's salary be made $100. per year. Motion made and carried that the Clerk's salary be made at $200. per year. Motion and carried that the Marshall's salary be made at $100. per year.

76 Columbia Feb 5th 1894 The town council met at the Town Hall Mayor Hutchinson presiding Roll call and the following council men present - Calder, McKay, Willacy, Groat & Chase The minutes of the last meeting read and approved. The committee appointed to interview Mr Camp in regard to the running of Cars in the town limits made a verbal report and on motion the same was acceppted and the committee discharged. A petition was read praying for the wages of common laborers to be placed to the old rate of 25 cents per hour. the Matter was discussed and on motion the petition was laid on the table indefinitely. Motion made and carried that common laborers be paid at the rate of 25 cents per hour. Ordinance #41 taken up and on motion the same was laid on the table indefinitely. Ordinance #42 regulating the salary of the Marshall, Clerk, and Attorney read and on motion passed by the council and approved by the Mayor. On motion Mr. Hellenthal was given one week more time to report in. Bill from Z C Miles for water pipes and fittings $96.69 read and on motion ordered paid. Bill from Hepler Lumber Co for pipe fittings $ read and on motion ordered places to their credit on water rent. ordered paid. Bill from William Willacy for cash paid for frieght $2.90, Car fare 10 cents, sharpening picks 90 cents total $4.15 read and on motion ordered paid. A compliant from Nettie Wood asking for $5000 damages sustained by a fall on Columbia St read and referred to the City Attorney.
