Sunday 26th September 1858 Finished genesis, lying in Kyauk Phyoo harbour. A very warm day

Capt. & party Harper Dibbs Leigh Evans Morris Law went out deer shooting. Got a jolly good ducking & killed nothing. dined at Ripleys in the evening. chafed Dr. Barlow Called on Dr. Thomas. Went on board between 9 & 10. Sung Queens letter

Tuesday 28th

Left this morning at 4 o clock for Akyab

Commisioner & 3 loyal salutes fired one at the lines, the "Proserpine" & the Marine Bungalow A year today since I arrived in Calcutta from England.

Saturday Nov 20th. 1858.

Today commenced again to keep my Journal up regularly writing it every morg. after breakfast. We have returned two days ago from another trip to Kyauk Phyoo & Sandoway & depart tomorrow morning at daybr eak for Chittagong. had a slight feverish attack yesterday which followed purging & vomiting of the night before. Got up at 1/2 past 5 oclock this morning. weather very cool on deck. 12 oclock Been reading this forenoon Horners pamphlet on Homeopathy sitting on the Quarterdeck of the "Proserpine"

island landed Capt. Faithful & his baggage in the Cutter & PB Boats.

Monday December 6th. 1858

Lay at anchor off St Martin's island all day yesterday. boats returned about 11 ocl PM. Got under weigh at daylight this morning to proceed to Akya fine clear day had a pleasant trip down & lunched in Akyab Harbour at 4 oclock went ashore & called at the Captns. in the evening Child much better. Anchored a long way off shore. Came on board at 9 oclock. Steamer Baltic arrived from Calcutta at 10 oclock PM. Slept in Cabin

Mr. B not a[t] home walked up to the Jail & Hospital on the road back met a Baboo Convict who was sent here for forgery (7 years 3 expired) Said he had offered Gov. 2 Lakhs for his liberty tiffined at the Circuit Bungalow. sent by Mrs. B Dr. & I had a chat on Scotch affairs. bid Mrs. Beddy goodbye (Capt. & I) at 4 oclock got into the Cutter & returned to the vessel between 5&6 I dined with the Capt. Col. Sage Dr. Brown (Simpkin) Dr. B asked me to call on him at Barrackpoor on our arrival in Calcutta turned in at 9 ocl

Left Tandypaura this morng. to proceed to Kyauk Phyoo vessel grounded between Singhou & Toddyporah at 7 oclock tried to bring her head round with a
