Dear Madam,
In reply to your note of respecting care of your lot last year, I have inquired at the Cemetery, and the Gardener says that he supposed from seeing you frequently there that you felt satisfied to have your lot taken care of -- he moreover thought care was continued on a general order, as in many other cases.
We are very glad to have proprietors sufficiently interested in their lots & have them cared for, -- but do not compel such care. Many complain if we do not continue the care, even though they may not themselves go out for the whole year. If you wish your lot cared for this year, you must give a special order. --
Yours Respectfully
Dear Madam,
I recd yours of in reply to bill of $6 for care of lot last year. We do not compel proprietors to pay for annual care -- but most appear to do so cheerfully. If you object to pay last year's bill, we shall remit it -- although I have no doubt the lot was cared for as others are -- by continued care, many persons feeling aggrieved, if we neglect their lots.
If you wish anything done this year, there must be a special order. --
Yours Respectfully
A.J. Coolidge Sec.y & Treasr
