February 20th, 1985

Finished packing after early breakfast; left for airport at 8 to make supposed 8:45 departure. Fog delayed takeoff until 12:15. Arrived at LaGuardia three hours late; Algonquin by 4 o’clock. Checked into Allog.; un-packed, had drink, short nap. Loomis called for us to meet him at his apartment on James street at 7:30. Did drink there, while admiring baby miles, then on with him and Hilary for dinner at Roxann’s, a small but elegant new restaurant nearby on 8th Ave. Good meal, with good xxxxx. Back to Algonquin by 10:30. Had a drink in the lobby, then called it a night, I did that is; Gwyn read Cromac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian.
