Plumber roto-rooted sink drain, fixed hot-water tap in bathroom. Air conditioning repairman restarted large backyard unit. Phone call at 8:30 informed me that Margaret was in jail and had been there since Saturday, arrested on assault and battery charges; trial at 9 a.m. At 9:30 she called for me to come pay her $100 bond and get her out. I did so after an hour’s wait at the “Tower Level,” and had to listen to her constant xxxxxxx obscenities all the way to her home, where I let her out. Back home, I had another call from her asking help; which I refused.
Received Xerox of Southern Review article from a fellow professor of Cox’s at Dartmouth, Hubard Coffine. I cut it marginally yo size it and mailed it to Rosen; requested him to return it when he’s through with it.
Book shelf; Kennedy’s Legs and Karrow’s Vietnam.
