JANUARY - FEBRUARY 1944

30 Sun - 4th after Epiphany
Went to Sunday
School in morning and taught primary.
Tried to get to see George in afternoon
but bus was packed and went by and we
could not get a lift. Wrote an English
essay in evening. Taffy came in.

31 Mon - Partridge and Pheasant Shooting ends
Janet had a long letter from George. Winnie
went back with Daddy in morning. Took a
nice science lesson. Had a free French
composition which took me most of the evening
wrote a letter to George.

1 Feb. Tues- First Quarter 7.8 a.m.
Cooked
potatoes, carrots and greens in cookery.
Voted for house captains at break. Had
nice singing lesson and then had to have
gym as it rained. Spent most of evening
doing geography.

2 Wed-Purification of B.V.M.
Candlemas (Scottish Quarter Day)
Had a
science test first lesson. Read
Farmer's Glory in English. Mummy
went to see George in afternoon.
Did homework all the evening until
10 o'clock.
