Lift Rhubarb and Seakale roots for forcing. Prepare root cuttings of Seakale, which should be stored in sand in a sheltered place until planting time in spring. Prune Vines as soon as the leaves fall and thoroughly cleanse both Vines and houses.

It is important that all fruits and vegetables in store should be inspected periodically during the winter months. It is work that can be conveniently carried out during spells of bad weather when it is impossible to work in the open. Remove all specimens which show the least sign of decay ; those slightly infected can be put on one side for immediate use.
