pleasant at 8 tack to W by North set the main sail
and sparker and Let a reef out of the top sails
at 4 PM got a Lunar obs Long 68 17 - - - -
Lat by obs 30 – 20 Long 67 – 46

Saturday March 22nd “ 1823
All these 24 hours Light winds and pasing
clouds from N by West to E N East and a
large sea from the North head from
W by N to N N West at 7 AM saw a sail
bearing W S West at 7 PM got a Lunar
Longitude 68 “ 41 Lat by obs 31 – 05 Long 69 – 18

Sunday March 23rd ‘ 1823
First part A fine Brees and pleasant from
the East S East [Latter (strikethrough)] Middle part Light
winds and cloudy from the S East Latter
part fine Breeses and clear from S S East
stear N N West with all sail set land West
saw 2 sail to the Eastward of us stearing South
Lat by obs 32 – 47 Long [69 – 18 (strikethrough)] 69 – 13
